(1889-1944)
   political figure
   Born in Paris, Philippe Henriot was, in the interwar years, a member of extreme rightist organizations, a deputy (1932, 1936), and, after the armistice of June 1940, was an active propagandist for the policy of collaboration with the occupying Germans. secretary of state for information in the government of pierre laval, and one of the leaders of the Milice, Henriot was killed by the resistance in January 1944.
